Our final Autocross for 2018 is now in the record books. It was our second time at Madison Speedway and what a change from 2 weeks ago when we were there. Hot hot and hot was the weather 2 weeks ago, fast forward to September 29th and it was cold, cold and cold
Racers started arriving around 7:00a.m. some were helping our Race Director Mark and Assistant Race Director Steve put the finishing touches on the track setup. The first time in a while that we had to have our coats on since it was a balmy 36 degrees to start the day. It did get all the way up to 51 degrees but with the sun hiding most of the time it did not seem like it got over 50 degrees Some drivers said they were running the heater in the car on the track.
The drivers meeting was at 9:00 a.m.with the track going hot about 9:30. We had a nice turnout of 21 drivers considering the cold. We had 4 run groups with 2 sets of 7 runs before lunch. Scored were tallied at lunch our infamous VP that prepares the numbers had to leave after lunch. We then had another 7 more runs concluding a little after 2:00p.m. and then awarding trophies. There were a few that did some open lapping fun finishing the final autocross of 2018 in style.
Congratulations to our Triple-Cross winner this year Jimmy Walker, it was a great year and we look forward to seeing everyone back at it in 2019.
