The second road course of the year was a return to Gingerman Raceway in Michigan. This track is one of our club's favorites. Most folks arrived Sunday to stay overnight and be up early for a great day of track time on Monday. Sunday night several went out to dinner for a nice meal and Viper talk. It was raining and storming and we did get a little wet from the walk back to the hotel. Some even ventured to the ice cream shop for a treat and a little more rain. Folks then retired to their rooms for a good night's sleep. About 1:00 in the morning the hotel lost power and never did get it back before we had to leave for the track. It was quite interesting trying to get ready that morning with no electricity. Using a cell phone flashlight was what I used. Everyone made it to the track and the power was out there when we first arrived but it came back on and all worked out. It was a cold windy day but no rain. We had about 20 drivers for the drivers meeting at about 9:00 with the track going hot at 9:30. Everyone had 5 sessions and had a great time on a track that was not crowded. The day ended about 4:00 with trophies being awarded with Jim Walker having the fastest time. We will be back at Gingerman in August for our longest day event. See everyone there.
